Walking in Truth

Walking in Truth as Children of God

Proverbs 12:22 (NIV)

"The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy."

Proverbs 12:22 (NLT‬)

The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in those who tell the truth.

Good morning Ekklesia

This morning, as we gather in the presence of our loving Father, we are reminded of the sacred calling upon our lives to walk in truth. In a world where lying and cheating have become rampant, even among those who claim to follow Christ, the Lord calls us to a higher standard. We are His chosen people, set apart to reflect His holiness and integrity.

Lying and cheating are not merely offenses against human ethics; they are sins against God. When we engage in deceit, we tarnish the image of Christ that we bear. Jesus declared Himself as "the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6). Therefore, as His followers, we must embody truth in our words and actions.

The enemy, Satan, is described as the father of lies (John 8:44). Every time we lie or cheat, we align ourselves with his kingdom rather than the Kingdom of God. But thanks be to God, we have been given the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth, who empowers us to live righteously and speak truthfully.

Consider the example of Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5. They lied about their offering and faced severe consequences. This story serves as a stark reminder that God sees our hearts and knows our intentions. He calls us to integrity because our honesty honors Him and builds trust within the body of Christ.

Ekklesia, are there areas where we have compromised the truth? Have we allowed small lies or dishonest actions to creep into our daily living? It's time to repent and seek God's forgiveness, allowing His truth to cleanse us and set us free.

Father God, we come before You, acknowledging that You are the God of truth. We repent for any lies or deceit we have harbored in our hearts. Cleanse us, Lord, and fill us with Your Spirit of truth. Help us to walk in integrity and reflect Your holiness in all we do. May our lives be a testament to Your truth, drawing others to Your light. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

As we go forth today, let us commit to being people of truth, for in doing so, we honor our Heavenly Father and shine His light in a world darkened by deceit.
