Don't Forget to Remember

Grace and Peace My Ekklesia Family

Gratitude keeps our hearts aligned with God’s grace and reminds us that every blessing comes from Him.

Primary Text: Gospel of Luke 17:11–19 (NLT)

“One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, ‘Praise God!’ He fell to the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking him for what he had done.” (Luke 17:15–16 NLT)

In Luke 17, ten men suffering from leprosy cried out to Jesus for mercy. In the first-century Jewish world, lepers were socially and spiritually isolated. They were removed from family, community, and worship life.

When Jesus told them to go show themselves to the priests, they obeyed—and as they went, they were healed.

But something remarkable happened:

Only one returned to thank Jesus.

Even more surprising—this man was a Samaritan, an outsider in Jewish society.

Jesus asked a piercing question:

“Didn't I heal ten men? Where are the other nine?” (Luke 17:17 NLT)

The miracle happened to all ten.

But relationship happened to the one who returned.

We live in a generation that celebrates blessings but often forgets the Blesser.

People pray in crisis.

People shout in emergencies.

People cry out when life falls apart.

But when God answers?

When the door opens…

When the healing comes…

When the second chance arrives…

Too many keep walking.

The nine got the miracle.

But the one got the moment with Jesus.

Gratitude is not just good manners—it is spiritual awareness.

Thankfulness keeps us humble.

Thankfulness keeps us connected.

Thankfulness keeps us remembering who brought us through.

Sometimes the greatest spiritual discipline is simply this:

Stop. Turn around. Say thank you.

Don't forget:

Who healed you.

Who opened that door.

Who restored your life.

Who gave you another chance.

The enemy loves when people receive blessings but forget God.

But grateful people live differently.

They remember:

It wasn’t luck.

It wasn’t coincidence.

It was grace.

And grace deserves gratitude.

Let's pray...

Father,

Thank You for every blessing we have overlooked and every miracle we may have taken for granted.

Teach us to remember where our help comes from.

When You heal us, help us come back.

When You restore us, help us return.

When You bless us, help us bow in gratitude.

Give us hearts that recognize Your goodness and lives that testify of Your mercy.

We surrender our pride and choose thankfulness today.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

If today you realize you have received blessings but drifted away from the Blesser, Jesus invites you to come back.

Faith is not just receiving from God—it is walking with God.

Turn your heart toward Christ.

Follow Him.

Grow with us at Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries as we pursue a life of obedience, gratitude, and transformation.
