Who We Are

We are a people called out by God to live differently in a world that keeps trying to pull us back. Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries is a Christ-centered, Spirit-led family where real people meet a real God and learn how to walk out faith in everyday life. We don’t believe church is just something you go to—we believe it’s who you are when you leave the building. We’re here to grow, to heal, to be transformed, and to be sent into our homes, our jobs, and our communities as living witnesses of Jesus Christ.

This is more than a gathering. This is a calling.

Pastor Stephän Kirby

Senior Pastor, Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries

Pastor Stephän Kirby leads with bold faith, clarity of purpose, and a commitment to spiritual maturity. His ministry is shaped by the legacy and example of his parents, Pastor Charles Kirby and Rubenna Kirby, whose leadership and integrity brought many souls to Christ and instilled in him a deep reverence for excellence, compassion, and truth.

As the visionary of Ekklesia, he is dedicated to building disciples, strengthening families, and creating a culture where believers walk confidently in identity, purpose, and Kingdom authority. His message is direct, Spirit-led, transformational, and anchored in Scripture—not just to inspire change, but to establish it.

Still focused.
Still committed.
Still called.
Still Ekklesia.

Dr. Monica Hunter-Kirby serves Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries as a powerful example of faith, strength, and servant leadership. She embodies the divine calling described in Genesis 2:18, where God declares, “I will make a helper suitable for him.” The Hebrew word for “helper,” ʿezer, does not signify weakness or subordination, but rather speaks of a strong ally, rescuer, and vital partner—a role often used in Scripture to describe God Himself as our help.

First Lady Monica walks in this God-ordained identity as both a spiritual partner and a Kingdom leader in her own right. Anointed by God and grounded in prayer, she brings wisdom, compassion, and discernment to the ministry, standing alongside her husband not merely in support, but in purpose and power.

Her life reflects the heart of a true ʿezer—one who strengthens vision, nurtures people, and advances the work of God with humility and bold faith. As a woman of God, she leads with grace, serves with love, and speaks with spiritual authority, inspiring women and families to walk in their God-given identity and calling.

First Lady Monica Hunter-Kirby is not only a helpmeet by design, but a Kingdom force by assignment—called, chosen, and anointed to build, heal, and uplift the Body of Christ at Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries.

K Harris_edited.jpg

Elder Karpreace V. Harris currently lives in Chicago. She recently graduated from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary where she received dual degrees:
Master of Divinity (MDiv) and Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy (MAMFT). She received her undergraduate degree from McKendree University, where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), with an emphasis in Management. She is also the proud parent of two adult daughters, Anita and Tierionna; whom she considers to be her greatest accomplishments.

Elder Harris gave her life to Christ in December of 1994. After years of resistance, she finally acknowledged her calling to preach the gospel in November of 2003. In December of that same year, she preached her initial sermon. On December 25th of 2011, she was licensed as a minister and thenlater ordained as an Elder in May of 2014 by Pastor Terry Jones of Kingdom Christian Church. She is currently serving under the leadership of Pastor Stephan Kirby at Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries in Louisville, KY.

She continues to preach the Word of God as the Spirit of God leads her. In addition to preaching, she has also served as, Bible Study Teacher, Worship Leader, Youth Pastor, has facilitated women’s ministry, and written and produced two plays. Elder Harris is also a LMFTA (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate). She is the founder and CEO of Wholly Grounded Counseling Services, LLC; where part of her vision is to help bridge the gap between the church and mental health. She strives to remove
the stigma surrounding therapy in the black community, and to help clients obtain spiritual, mental, social and physical wholeness.

Elder Harris has a desire to please God above everything else and to do His Will. One of her favorite scriptures is Romans 8:28: “And we know that all things work together for good, to them that love God, who are the called according to His purpose.” This particular passage has truly helped her to endure many hardships as a good soldier, knowing that somehow, someway, it is working for her good.
