Don't Touch God’s Glory

Grace and Peace My Ekklesia Family

God will use you to bless others, but the moment you take credit for what belongs to Him, you rob yourself of the very reward He intended for you.

Matthew 6:3 (NLT)

“But when you give to someone in need, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.”

James 1:17 (NLT) – “Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father…”

In Matthew 6, Jesus is confronting religious leaders who turned generosity into performance. The Pharisees publicly announced their giving so people would admire them. In the culture of the time, public honor meant social power.

Jesus exposes the problem:

They were not helping people to honor God — they were helping people to honor themselves.

So Jesus gives a radical teaching:

Give quietly.

Serve quietly.

Bless quietly.

Because when generosity becomes a performance, it stops being worship.

God is not impressed by what we do publicly if our motive is self-glory.

Today the temptation is even greater.

Social media has made good deeds a stage.

People record themselves feeding the homeless.

They announce every act of kindness.

They tell the story of how they “went out of their way” to help someone.

But Jesus warns us:

If you need applause, you already got your reward.

God often uses you to bless someone else, but the power behind the blessing was never yours.

The wisdom.

The money.

The opportunity.

The timing.

All of it came from God.

So when we brag about helping someone, we quietly steal the glory that belongs to God.

God loves to use people as instruments of blessing.

But instruments don’t take credit for the music.

When God uses you:

Stay humble.

Stay quiet.

Stay grateful.

Because the real miracle is not that you helped someone.

The miracle is God trusted you enough to be part of His work.

Obedience says:

“Lord, thank you for letting me serve.”

Pride says:

“Look at what I did.”

One gives God glory.

The other steals it.

And the Kingdom always rewards humility.

Father,

Thank You for every opportunity You give us to bless others. Remind us that every good thing in our lives comes from You.

Guard our hearts from pride. Protect us from the temptation to turn kindness into performance. Teach us to serve quietly, love sincerely, and give without seeking recognition.

Let our lives point people to Jesus, not to ourselves.

Use us as instruments of Your mercy, Your compassion, and Your grace.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Jesus did the greatest act of love in history — and He didn’t do it for applause.

He gave His life for us.

If you are ready to follow Jesus, walk in humility, and grow as a disciple, we invite you to begin that journey today.

Walk with Christ.

Grow with Ekklesia.

Live as a blessing to others.
