Waiting in Peace

My Ekklesia Family,
Many things are about to happen, in fact, some of those things have actually started. God is calling for us the Ekklesia "the called-out ones" to not be worried or anxious, but wait on the Lord in peace.
Imagine a bride preparing for her wedding day. The date is set. She doesn’t know the exact hour, but she lives each day ready, clean, and peaceful, because she knows her groom is coming. She’s not just lounging in leisure — she’s active, hopeful, and devoted.
That’s what Peter is calling the Church to be — the Bride living in joyful, blameless anticipation.
2 Peter 3:14, NLT:
“And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen, make every effort to be found living peaceful lives that are pure and blameless in his sight.”
“And so, dear friends…”Peter is speaking affectionately to believers, urging them as family in the faith. The word “so” connects this verse to the previous discussion on Christ’s return and the coming judgment (vv.10–13).
“while you are waiting for these things to happen…”The “things” refer to the Day of the Lord, when the heavens and earth will be made new (v.13). This is an eschatological expectation — believers are waiting not passively, but purposefully.
“make every effort…”This phrase emphasizes intentional, active living — not coasting spiritually, but striving diligently.
“to be found living peaceful lives…”In light of Christ’s return, believers are urged to live with peace — inward peace, relational peace, and spiritual calm — not chaos, division, or strife.
“that are pure and blameless…”This describes moral integrity and spiritual holiness. It’s not about perfection, but about a heart posture aligned with God’s will.
“in his sight.”Ultimately, what matters is not how we look to people, but how we appear before God. Our lives are lived in view of His returning gaze.
Stay Ready, Not Just Informed.Don’t just know Jesus is coming — live like it. Let your lifestyle reflect that hope.
Pursue Peace Daily. Be the peacemaker in your home, your church, your community. If drama follows you, ask why.
Check Your Character, Not Just Your Calendar. We often wait on the “when,” but God is watching the “how” — how we wait and live while we wait.
Live for the Audience of One.“Blameless in His sight” means our aim is to please God, even if misunderstood by people.
Lord Jesus,
While we wait for Your return, help us live with urgency and integrity. Let peace guard our hearts, purity guide our actions, and Your presence shape our witness. We want to be found faithful — not fearful — when You come again. Keep us ready, O Lord, not just with our lips but with our lives.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
