TUESDAY — “What You Produce Matters”
Produce or Pretend
God is not impressed by appearance—He is looking for fruit.
Mark 11:12–14 (NLT)
“Then Jesus cursed the fig tree, saying, ‘May no one ever eat your fruit again!’”
As Jesus continues His journey during Passion Week, He encounters a fig tree full of leaves. In that culture, leaves signaled the expectation of fruit. But when Jesus inspected it, there was nothing there. The tree gave the appearance of productivity without the reality of it.
This moment is not about agriculture—it’s about authenticity. The fig tree represented Israel’s spiritual condition: outward religion, inward emptiness.
Jesus is confronting a deeper issue—presentation without transformation.
We have learned how to:
Speak the language of faith
Dress the part
Post the scripture
Attend the service
…but still lack the fruit of a surrendered life.
We’ve mastered looking saved…
without living submitted.
God is not moved by leaves:
Not your titles
Not your activity
Not your visibility
He is looking for evidence.
Fruit is proof of connection.
Fruit is proof of growth.
Fruit is proof of transformation.
And here’s the tension—
You can fool people…
but you cannot fool God.
Your life should be producing something:
Love where there used to be anger
Discipline where there used to be inconsistency
Faith where there used to be fear
Obedience where there used to be excuses
No fruit = no evidence of transformation.
This is not about perfection—
it’s about progression.
So ask yourself honestly: What is my life producing?
Because in the Kingdom—
appearance may attract attention…
but fruit sustains purpose.
Let's Pray...
Lord, examine my life. Strip away anything that is just for show. Produce real fruit in me—love, patience, discipline, obedience, and faith. Help me not just look like I follow You, but truly live surrendered to You. Make me fruitful in every area of my life. Not just visible—valuable. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Follow Jesus beyond appearance.
Don’t settle for looking the part—live the life.
Grow in real transformation, real obedience, and real relationship.
Walk with us at Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries as we pursue fruit that lasts.
