Built Together, Not Just Saved Alone
God forms us through koinonia—deep spiritual fellowship that produces unity, endurance, and Christ-like love.
Romans 15:5 (NLT)
“May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus.”
The Apostle Paul writes to a divided church in Rome—Jews and Gentiles navigating cultural tension, spiritual immaturity, and differing convictions. The word behind this harmony is rooted in koinonia—not surface-level connection, but shared life, shared suffering, shared faith in Christ.
Paul is not asking them to agree on everything. He is calling them to align in Christ despite differences. This harmony is not human—it is God-given. Patience and encouragement are not personality traits here; they are spiritual gifts required for unity.
Today, we live in a culture that celebrates independence but struggles with interdependence. We “follow Jesus” but avoid people. We want personal blessings without communal accountability.
But koinonia exposes that mindset.
You cannot grow into Christ without people.
You cannot walk in unity if you only stay where you're comfortable.
Modern Christianity often avoids correction, avoids community, and avoids commitment—but still expects transformation.
That is not the gospel. That is convenience.
God is not just building your faith—He’s building a people.
Real growth happens when:
You stay when it’s uncomfortable
You love when it’s inconvenient
You forgive when it’s undeserved
You commit when it’s easier to disconnect
This is koinonia.
This is where patience is developed.
This is where encouragement becomes real.
This is where Christ is formed in you.
You were never called to walk alone—you were called to grow together.
Let's pray…
Father,
Thank You for not calling me to do life alone.
Teach me to love beyond my preferences,
to stay beyond my comfort,
and to grow beyond my pride.
Give me patience with people.
Give me encouragement for others.
Shape me through community, not isolation.
Make me a builder of unity, not a breaker of relationships.
Form Christ in me through the people You’ve placed around me.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
If you’ve been trying to follow Jesus alone, today is your invitation to step into real fellowship.
Follow Christ—not just privately, but in community.
Grow in relationship—not just with God, but with His people.
Join us at Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries and walk this journey together.
Because faith grows stronger when it grows with others.
