Clean House Before You Carry Glory
“Everybody wants God’s blessing… but nobody wants God’s cleaning.”
Jesus walked into the Temple…and instead of celebrating…He started flipping tables.
Why?
Because what was supposed to be sacred…became compromised.
And if we’re honest—we’ve done the same thing.
We want elevation…without inspection.We want glory…without cleansing.
But God is saying—“I won’t pour new into what you won’t let Me purify.”
So here’s the question:What is God trying to remove… that you keep trying to keep?
Let Him clean it.
Because what He’s about to do in your life…requires space.
God will confront what you tolerate before He releases what He promised.
Matthew 21:12–13 (NLT)“My Temple will be called a house of prayer, but you have turned it into a den of thieves!”
This moment takes place immediately after Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. The crowds praised Him publicly, but when He entered the Temple, He found corruption. Money changers and merchants had turned a sacred place of prayer into a system of profit. What was meant for God had been repurposed for personal gain.
Jesus is not just confronting a building—He is confronting misplaced priorities. The Temple represented God’s dwelling place, and now it reflected human compromise. Today, we can do the same—carry the name of God while harboring habits, mindsets, and systems that don’t honor Him.
We want Palm Sunday celebration…but resist Monday correction.
God will not empower what He has not purified.
Before elevation comes inspection. Before glory comes cleansing.
What have you made acceptable that God is calling out? What have you protected that God is trying to remove?
This is not punishment—this is preparation.God is making room in you for what He promised to release through you.
Repentance is not rejection—it’s realignment.
Lets's Pray...
Father, search me and know me. Clean what I’ve covered. Remove what I’ve justified. Purify my thoughts, my motives, and my actions. Make my life a true house of prayer—not performance. Give me courage to release what You are overturning so I can receive what You are preparing. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Don’t just attend church—become the Temple. Follow Jesus daily. Walk in obedience. Grow in relationship, not routine. Join us at Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries as we live this out together.
