“Yes… I’m Still Thankful”

“Yes… I’m Still Thankful”

Psalm 118:24 — “This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.”

Lamentations 3:22–23 — “The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.”

Hello Ekklesia Family

There are moments in life when gratitude doesn’t come from perfect circumstances—it comes from a clear recognition of God’s faithfulness. Sometimes the greatest testimony you have is: “Thank God that things are as well as they are.”

You’re not ignoring the challenges. You’re acknowledging the grace.

This morning, when mercy and grace slipped into your room and whispered, “Wake up,” God was telling you:

You’re still here.

You still have purpose.

You still have breath for another step.

And for that—you’re still thankful.

A man once said, “If you thank God only when everything is good, you’re not thanking Him—you’re reacting.” But when you can thank God in the struggle, through the storm, and despite the uncertainty, that’s worship. That’s trust. That’s faith.

Gratitude becomes your anchor when life tries to drift you into worry.

“This is the day the Lord has made…”

This day—*not yesterday’s pain, not tomorrow’s pressure—*THIS day—is handcrafted by God. Gratitude opens your eyes to the opportunities inside the day.

“His mercies begin afresh each morning…”

God gives you new mercies because yesterday’s burdens used up yesterday’s strength. Today’s mercy fits today’s journey.

You woke up because grace decided you were still needed.

A thankful heart sees God’s hand even when life is heavy. Gratitude doesn’t deny reality—it declares a greater reality:

God is faithful.

God is present.

God is sustaining you.

And because of that… you’re still thankful.

1. Start your day with recognition, not reaction. Before checking your phone, check your gratitude.

2. Say out loud one thing you’re thankful for right now. Your voice activates your perspective.

3. Shift your focus. Gratitude turns complaints into confessions of faith.

4. Practice spiritual memory. Remember how many times God made a way. It fuels today’s hope.

Father, thank You for another day. Thank You that things are as well as they are. Thank You for the mercy that carried me, the grace that covered me, and the strength that woke me up this morning. I surrender this day into Your hands. Let my gratitude be louder than my frustration and my praise be stronger than my pressure. Keep my heart soft, my mind clear, and my spirit grateful. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If today’s devotional stirred something in your heart, don’t ignore it. Gratitude is often God’s way of drawing you closer to Him. If you’re ready for a fresh start, a deeper walk, or to recommit your life to Christ—this is your moment.

Simply say:

“Lord Jesus, I surrender.

Forgive me, renew me, and lead me.

I say yes to You today. Amen.”

If you prayed that prayer, we invite you to grow with us at Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries, where we learn, worship, and walk out God’s purpose together.
