Time We're Given

“The Time We’re Given”

Good morning My Ekklesia Family

Ephesians 5:15–16 (NLT)

"So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days."

Imagine waking up each day with $86,400 deposited into your account. The catch? Whatever you don’t spend by midnight disappears. No rollover. No refunds. Just today.

Time works the same way.

Each day, God gives us 86,400 seconds—not to waste, but to use wisely. The problem isn’t that we don’t have enough time… it’s how we spend it.

Paul's words in Ephesians call us to “redeem the time” or “make the most” of every opportunity. The Greek word for “redeem” (exagorazō) means to buy back or rescue from loss. It’s a reminder that time is slipping away—and we have a responsibility to use it with intention and wisdom.

So many things compete for our time: distractions, disappointments, drama, and dead-end relationships. But if we’re not careful, we’ll reach the end of our days not exhausted from purpose but drained from pettiness.

Stop giving time to things that don’t give life.

Evaluate where your energy goes—does it align with your values, your calling, your assignment?

Spend your time being a blessing, not just chasing blessings.

Ask God daily: “How can I use this day to glorify You and help someone else?”

Father, You are the Author of time, the Giver of my days. Teach me to number them wisely. Forgive me for the time I’ve wasted, and guide me into purpose. Let me not just count my days, but make my days count—for Your glory and someone else's good. Align my heart with Your will. Help me to walk with intention, speak with grace, and love with urgency. In Jesus' name, Amen.

If you’re tired of wasting your days and want to live on purpose, now is the time to walk with Christ. His way is not only the truth—it’s life, abundant and eternal. Surrender your time, your plans, your life to Him today. Let Him redeem your time and rewrite your story.
