Overwhelmed Yet Anointed

Good morning, My Ekklesia Family

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.” — Psalm 23:5 (NLT)

Overwhelmed Yet Anointed

There are days when life feels like it has piled too much on your plate. Responsibilities stack high, expectations weigh heavy, and even blessings can feel like burdens when you’re tired. The world calls it being “overwhelmed.” But heaven calls it being positioned for glory.

David understood this when he wrote Psalm 23:5. He wasn’t sitting in a quiet meadow. He was surrounded by enemies. Yet God prepared a table right there. That means what’s on your plate isn’t random—it’s intentional. And before you even pick up your fork, God anoints your head with oil, setting you apart for the task and supplying the grace to handle it.

Your plate may be full, but so is your cup. The anointing turns your “too much” into “more than enough.” The Shekinah Glory—God’s manifest presence—rests on you, even in the busiest, hardest, messiest seasons.

The question is not “Can I handle this?” but “Will I trust the One who prepared it?”

Life-Changing Application

1. Recognize the Source – Your plate isn’t filled by accident. God Himself prepared it, even in hostile environments.

2. Remember the Oil – If He gave it, He’s already anointed you to manage it.

3. Shift Your Focus – Look at the Host, not just the plate. The presence of enemies is an opportunity for a testimony.

4. Eat in Faith – Don’t push away what God has given. Consume it, grow from it, and let it nourish your purpose.

Prayer of Surrender

Lord, I bring You my plate—the heavy parts, the hard parts, the holy assignments. I surrender my stress, my fear, and my doubt. Thank You for anointing me before appointing me. I trust that You will give me the strength to handle what You’ve placed before me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer of Encouragement

Father, I pray for the one who feels like they’re drowning in responsibility. Remind them today that they are not just burdened—they are anointed. Let Your Shekinah Glory lift them, refresh them, and empower them to walk in victory. Fill their cup until it overflows. Amen.
