No Excuses - God is Working

No Excuses – God Is Working!Text: Philippians 2:13 (NLT)

“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.”

Good morning Ekklesia Family

Philippians 2:13 NLT

[13] For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

A child learning to ride a bike often feels scared and unsure. They wobble, hesitate, and say, “I can’t do it.” But a loving parent doesn’t step back—they come closer. The parent runs alongside, steadying the seat, whispering, “I’m right here. You’ve got this. Keep going.”Eventually, the child realizes: It wasn’t me riding alone—it was the strength and support of the one who never let go.That’s how God works with us.

The Apostle Paul writes this letter to the church at Philippi while in chains, yet he speaks of freedom—freedom from excuses, because God is the one doing the work. The Greek for “work” (energeō) means God is actively energizing your soul.He gives both the desire (“to will”) and the strength (“to do”) what pleases Him. That cancels every excuse. No one can say, “I just don’t have it in me.”Yes, you do—because God put it there. He didn’t just call you—He equipped you. He didn’t just speak to you—He’s staying with you. God doesn’t abandon the bike when you wobble. He steadies your life until you ride in His purpose.

We must stop saying:

  • “I’m not ready.”

  • “I don’t know enough.”

  • “I’ve failed too much.”

Because God is working:

  • In you – to change what you desire.

  • On you – to shape how you respond.

  • Through you – to bless someone else’s life.

You are not riding alone. His hand is on you. That’s why the time for excuses is over—and the time to move is now.

Lord, I confess I’ve made too many excuses. I’ve doubted what You’ve already begun. But today, I surrender. I trust that You are working in me, giving me the desire and strength to do Your will. Help me walk in obedience, boldness, and faith. Thank You for never letting go. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
