Today’s Devotional — May 4

“May the Lord Be With You” (A Kingdom Parable)

Romans 8:28 declares that God is working all things together for good for those who love Him. That means even what feels confusing, delayed, or difficult is not wasted—it’s being woven into God’s purpose.

Let me give you a short parable for today:

A young apprentice once trained to become a great warrior. He believed that power came from control, strength, and proving himself. But his master told him, “You are strongest when you trust what is greater than you. When you stop striving to control everything, you will begin to understand.”

The apprentice struggled. Every trial made him anxious. Every unknown made him fearful. But one day, instead of fighting the moment, he surrendered to it. He trusted what his master had been teaching him all along.

And in that moment, he realized… the power he was searching for had been with him the entire time.

Jesus says something even greater in Matthew 11:28–30:

“Come to me… and I will give you rest.”

And in Matthew 6:19–34, He tells us not to worry about tomorrow, because our Father already knows what we need.

So today, we don’t just say “May the Force be with you.”

We say something far more powerful:

The Lord is with you.

Not as an energy.

Not as a distant presence.

But in His Word and through His Spirit.

You don’t have to control everything.

You don’t have to understand everything.

You just have to love God, trust Him, and walk with Him.

And according to Romans 8:28…

everything will work out exactly like it’s supposed to. ❤️

Prayer:

Lord, today I release my need to control everything. Teach me to trust You more. Remind me that You are with me—not just around me, but within me. Help me walk in Your Word and Your Spirit. I love You, I trust You, and I believe You are working all things for my good. In Jesus’ name, Amen
