Making Room for God in Your Life

Good morning Ekklesia Family

What do you do when you're trying to make space in your life for God—letting go of distractions, rearranging your priorities, even cleaning out your heart—and the moment you clear that space, new problems move in like squatters? You made room for peace, but anxiety parked itself there. You created time for prayer, but pressure filled the schedule.

Luke 10:38-42 (NLT) tells the story of Mary and Martha. Martha made room for Jesus in her home, but Mary made room for Him in her heart. One was busy preparing, the other was quietly present. Jesus said, “Mary has chosen what is better.” The space you create for God is not about the physical clearing, but the spiritual yielding.

2 Kings 4:8-10 speaks of the Shunammite woman who built a room for Elisha—a prophetic space in her home. Her life wasn’t free of problems, but by making room for God’s voice, she opened her life to resurrection power.

Stop measuring your capacity by your problems. With God, you are unlimited. Stop organizing your life by what’s crowding you, and start stewarding it by who’s calling you. When God steps into the space you've made for Him, He doesn't just occupy it—He transforms it. Problems don’t shrink your space; they expand your purpose.

Things to Consider:

  • What spaces in your life have been overrun by problems you thought you left behind?

  • Are you making room for God, or just cleaning space for convenience?

  • Will you trust that God's presence is bigger than your problems?

Lord, I surrender the space I’ve been guarding for my fears and frustrations. Make Your home in me. Fill every room of my soul with Your presence. I choose to be like Mary—sitting at Your feet, not distracted by the weight of the world but anchored in Your Word. Amen.

God, thank You for not being limited by my limitations. Thank You for turning every problem into a platform for Your glory. Today, I choose to stop measuring what I see and start magnifying who You are.

If you're ready to stop making space for fear and start making room for faith, Jesus is ready to dwell with you. He doesn't just visit—He transforms. Join us at Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries, where we're not just building space for God, we’re becoming it.
