“Lord, Save Me”
Greetings, My Ekklesia Family
“But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. ‘Lord, save me!’ he shouted.” – Matthew 14:30 (NLT)
Peter had already done the impossible — he was walking on water. But in a single moment, the wind roared louder, the waves rose higher, and fear pulled him down.
What’s beautiful is that Peter didn’t try to swim back to the boat. He didn’t try to fix it himself. He simply cried, “Lord, save me!” And the Bible says Jesus immediately reached out His hand.
We all face storms — gun violence in our neighborhoods, division in our country, racial injustice, broken families, sickness, financial, or other personal battles we can’t explain to anyone else. These waves are real. They demand our attention. And sometimes they make us feel like we’re sinking.
But the good news is this: you don’t have to wait for the storm to stop before you cry out. You don’t have to have the right words, the perfect faith, or a five-step plan. One simple prayer — “Lord, save me” — is enough to move the hand of Jesus.
And when He takes your hand, He won’t just keep you afloat. He’ll walk you back through the storm, calm the waters in your soul, and even give you the wisdom to face the waves that rise tomorrow.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, in every storm, I need You. When fear rises and faith feels small, remind me that I can cry out, “Lord, save me,” and You will reach for me. Calm my heart, guide my steps, and give me wisdom to bring peace where there is chaos. Amen.
