1 John 1:9 (NLT) – “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.”

This morning, before you move, before you check your phone, before you rehearse the pain of yesterday—pause. Breathe. God is not hiding from you. He’s inviting you.

Confession is not condemnation—it’s conversation. It’s not weakness—it’s worship. It’s not shame—it’s surrender. When you ask for forgiveness, you’re not telling God something He doesn’t know—you’re inviting Him to do what only He can: cleanse, restore, and renew.

The Greek word for “confess” (homologeó) means to say the same thing as. That means when we confess our sins, we’re agreeing with God’s truth—acknowledging what’s broken, trusting Him to make it whole.

Don’t let pride keep you in yesterday’s chains. Forgiveness is available before your feet even hit the floor.

Start your day with honesty. Journal a confession. Whisper a prayer. Text someone and make it right if needed.

God’s mercy is new every morning—take it. Walk in it. Live like you’re forgiven.

Father, I come to You with a bowed head and an open heart. Forgive me for where I’ve fallen short. Cleanse me, renew me, restore me. I thank You that Your love covers a multitude of sins. I release all guilt and shame. I receive Your mercy. Thank You for never turning away from me. I am Yours. In Jesus' name, amen.
