"Gratitude for a Loving Faith"
Philemon 1:3-5 (NIV)
“Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, because I hear about your love for all his holy people and your faith in the Lord Jesus.”
Good morning Ekklesia Family
Paul’s greeting to Philemon is more than polite—it’s a powerful affirmation of spiritual character. In just a few lines, Paul reveals the essence of Christian encouragement: grace, peace, gratitude, and recognition of love in action. Paul commends Philemon not only for his faith in Jesus but for the fruit of that faith—his evident love toward the saints. Faith in Christ and love for people are inseparable marks of authentic discipleship.
Paul's prayerful remembrance challenges us to ask: Are we known for our love? Would someone thank God for our faith and our actions? Let our faith in Jesus Christ be demonstrated by our love toward all people—especially the saints. In divided times, loving the people of God strengthens the unity of the church and honors the name of Christ.
Like a letter of recommendation, Paul’s words speak to Philemon’s character. Imagine someone reading a letter written about you—would it speak of your compassion, faith, and impact on others?
Heavenly Father,Thank You for the gift of grace and peace through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Let my life be one that causes others to give thanks as they remember me in prayer. May my faith in Jesus be evident, not just in word, but in love and service toward Your people. Teach me to live a life worthy of remembrance—a life that glorifies You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
