Forgiven
Good morning, My Ekklesia Family,
Once you request forgiveness from God, your past is no longer an issue. In 1 John 1:9, we are reminded of the beautiful promise: "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." This scripture reveals two powerful truths about God: His faithfulness and His justice. God does not merely overlook our sins—He forgives them fully, cleansing us and restoring us to a right relationship with Him.
In this verse, John invites us to reflect on God’s unwavering character. His faithfulness guarantees that His promises to forgive are trustworthy. His justice ensures that forgiveness is grounded in the finished work of Jesus on the cross. Through confession, we surrender our brokenness, guilt, and shame, trusting in the sufficiency of Christ's blood to purify us.
This cleansing is not partial or conditional. It is complete, transforming us into new creations. The old has passed away, and we are made whole. Therefore, when God forgives, He does not hold our past against us. What a freeing truth!
Ekklesia Family, many of us carry guilt for mistakes that God has already forgiven. But God doesn’t want us trapped in shame. When you confess and repent, He doesn’t see your failures—He sees you covered by the righteousness of Christ. This week, I encourage you to walk in the freedom of forgiveness. Refuse to let the enemy whisper lies about your past. Instead, proclaim the truth: “I am forgiven, cleansed, and free!”
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness and justice. Thank You for forgiving us and cleansing us completely. We surrender our guilt and shame to You, Lord, trusting that our past no longer defines us. Help us to walk in the newness of life You have given us. Strengthen us to forgive ourselves as You have forgiven us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
If you have not yet experienced the freedom of God’s forgiveness, I invite you today to confess your sins and place your faith in Jesus Christ. The family of God is open to all who believe.
