For Just a Little While

“In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.” — 1 Peter 5:10 NLT
Imagine a house being rebuilt after a storm. The wind has ripped off shingles, rain has soaked the walls, and the structure looks weak. But then the master builder shows up—not to condemn what’s left, but to restore it. With skill and precision, he strengthens the foundation, supports the beams, and makes it stronger than before. That’s what God does with us after seasons of suffering.
Peter writes to believers under persecution, reminding them that suffering is never the end of the story. Notice the four promises in this verse:
Restore – God puts back what was broken.
Support – He gives you stability when you feel like collapsing.
Strengthen – He fortifies your inner man with courage and endurance.
Firm Foundation – He places your life on something unshakable: Christ Himself.
This isn’t just survival—it’s transformation. Suffering may bruise you, but in Christ, it will not break you.
Your suffering has an expiration date. “A little while” means your storm is temporary.
Your story is about restoration, not ruin. God Himself takes responsibility for building you back up.
Your future is secure. Christ is your firm foundation—no failure, no enemy, no suffering can uproot you.
So walk today with confidence: the same Jesus who called you will complete what He started in you.
Father, in the name of Jesus, I surrender my broken pieces to You. Thank You for being the God who restores, supports, and strengthens. Place me on Your firm foundation, where no storm can shake me. Encourage my spirit today, and let my testimony be that even after the suffering, I came out stronger in You. Amen.
If you’ve been walking through storms without Christ, today is your day to receive the Master Builder into your life. Say “Yes” to Jesus—let Him restore, strengthen, and place you on His eternal foundation. Come join us at Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries, where we believe the Gospel is told and never sold.
