Courage to Choose Righteousness

The Courage to Choose Righteousness

Good morning, Ekklesia Family,

Today, more than ever, we are faced with crossroads that test our convictions. In a world that celebrates compromise and comfort, it takes bold courage to choose righteousness. But choosing God's way—even when it costs us comfort, popularity, or pride—is the very proof that His Spirit is alive in us.

Jesus said it plainly:

“You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.”

—Matthew 7:13-14, NLT

The narrow road is not for the faint of heart. It requires faith to say “no” to sin and “yes” to holiness when no one else is watching. It takes strength to remain obedient in a culture that rewards shortcuts and shames conviction.

But here’s our hope:

We do not walk this road alone. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in us. He is our Helper, our Counselor, and our Strength.

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think...”

—Romans 12:2, NLT

Choosing righteousness isn't just about saying “no” to sin—it’s about saying “yes” to peace, purpose, and God’s favor. Yes, the sacrifices are real. But the rewards? Eternal. Unshakable. Worth it.

So today, don’t flinch. Don’t fold. Don’t follow the crowd. Choose to follow Christ. Choose righteousness. Choose life.

Let’s Pray:

Heavenly Father, give us the boldness to walk the narrow road. Help us to stand firm in truth even when we stand alone. Fill us with the Holy Spirit to resist temptation and reflect Your light in a dark world. Make us holy. Make us strong. Make us like Jesus. In His mighty name, amen.

Final Encouragement:

The world may try to distract you, detour you, and discourage you. But remember, Ekklesia—we were never called to fit in. We were chosen to stand out.

Walk the narrow road. It leads to life. It leads to Him.

With grace and bold love,

Pastor Stephän Kirby
