“He Met Me in My Tears”

Grace and Peace Ekklesia Family

Scripture – Psalm 34:18 (NLT)

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”

This morning, I want to share a truth that did not come from a book, a podcast, or a sermon outline—

it came from a moment where I sat alone, with tears rolling down my face, trying to figure out what only God could handle.

I said quietly:

“God, I’m sitting here crying trying to figure it out, when all I really need to do is trust You and do what I preach about.”

That confession became my breakthrough.

In that moment, God didn’t meet me with judgment.

He met me with presence.

He didn’t remind me of my failures.

He reminded me of His faithfulness.

I didn’t feel strong.

I didn’t feel wise.

I didn’t feel like a pastor.

But God met me in my tears and whispered:

“You don’t have to figure this out.

You just have to trust Me.

I will take it from here.”

That’s when peace returned.

Not because my situation changed, but because my posture changed.

I stopped carrying what was never mine to lift alone.

I surrendered what was too heavy for my hands and placed it in God’s hands.

This morning, the same God who met me will meet you.

Not in perfection.

Not in power.

Not in performance.

He will meet you in your tears, your questions, your exhaustion, and your honesty.

That’s where grace flows.

That’s where peace rises.

That’s where God restores.

Today, instead of waking up and trying to “figure it out,”

try waking up and trusting it to God.

• Trust Him with the decision you’ve been overthinking.

• Trust Him with the conversation you’re afraid to have.

• Trust Him with the outcome you cannot control.

• Trust Him with the burden you’ve been quietly carrying.

Lay the weight down.

Lift your hands up.

Let God take it from here.

Prayer of Encouragement

Father, in the name of Jesus,

I pray for every listener, every reader, and every member of Ekklesia this morning.

Meet them the way You met me.

Meet them in their quiet moments.

Meet them in their tears.

Meet them in their uncertainty.

Meet them in their need for clarity, strength, and peace.

Lift the burdens from their hearts.

Calm the storms in their minds.

Fill their spirit with courage, trust, and hope.

Remind them they are not alone, not abandoned, not forgotten, and not invisible to You.

Whisper to them the same words You whispered to me:

“You don’t have to figure this out.

Just trust Me.

I will take it from here.”

Cover them today with grace that steadies,

peace that anchors,

and strength that carries.

In Jesus’ name.

Amen.
