1 Peter 4:10 (NLT)
“God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.”
Family, God never asked us to be perfect — He asked us to be purposeful. He didn’t place flawless people in your life; He placed good people who are being perfected by His Word, shaped by His Spirit, and strengthened by His grace.
Sometimes we overlook the value around us because we’re searching for what doesn’t exist — perfect people. But God says, “Look again.” The ones you’re walking with, praying with, forgiving, growing with, struggling with — these are the people He’s "Gifted" and using to prepare you, develop you, and mature you in love, service, patience, and grace.
In 1 Peter 4:10, Peter reminds the scattered believers that God has already equipped them. The phrase “great variety of spiritual gifts” reveals a divine tapestry — God intentionally distributes different abilities across the Body so we can serve one another. The emphasis is not on talent but stewardship.
The synopsis is simple:
God placed gifts in you, and God placed good people around you, because kingdom growth requires cooperation, not isolation.
Through God’s Spirit, good people become perfecting people. With time, Word, and worship — we sharpen each other.
1. See the Good, Not the Gaps.
Shift your focus from what people lack to what God is producing in them.
2. Honor the Gifts in Others.
Someone else’s strength may be God’s answer to your weakness.
3. Use What God Gave You.
Don’t bury your gift — build with it. Someone’s healing, hope, or breakthrough is connected to your obedience.
4. Grow in Community, Not Isolation.
Transformation happens when you walk with people who push you toward God.
Let's Pray...
Father, in the name of Jesus, I surrender my gifts, my expectations, and my vision of what perfection looks like. Teach me to see the good in others, to honor what You’ve placed inside them, and to use what You placed inside me. Perfect my heart through Your Spirit. Strengthen me through community. Encourage me through Your Word. And lead me into every purpose You’ve assigned to my life. Amen.
If you’re ready to grow, to serve, to discover your God-given gifts, and to walk with a family that’s becoming everything God designed — Ekklesia is waiting for you. Come join this called-out body of believers where imperfect people are being perfected by a perfect God. Today is your day to say “Yes” to Jesus, “Yes” to purpose, and “Yes” to discipleship.
