Think on These Things

Ekklesia Devotional – “Think on These Things” (Philippians 4:8, ESV)

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable — if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

I know what the world looks like right now. The news feels heavy. The economy is shaking. People are divided. It’s hard to see anything lovely when chaos seems to sit on every channel. But child of God — this is exactly why the Word commands us to think on these things.

Guard your mind and your heart. Because what you focus on will either feed your fear or fuel your faith. When you choose to think on what is true, honorable, and pure — you’re not denying the reality of this world; you’re declaring the authority of God over it.

Peace doesn’t come from pretending everything is fine. Peace comes from trusting that God still reigns, even when everything isn’t fine.

Prophetic Word:

God says, “If you keep your mind stayed on Me, I will keep you in perfect peace. While the world trembles, My people will stand unshaken. Fix your thoughts on what I’ve promised, not on what you fear.”

Father, in a world filled with noise, help us to fix our thoughts on You. Guard our hearts from anxiety and our minds from despair. Teach us to see beauty even in broken places and to trust that Your peace is greater than any storm. In Jesus’ name, amen.
