“Still Standing in the Shutdown”

Grace and Peace Ekklesia

Psalm 46:1 (NLT) — “God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.

Family, while the government may be in a shutdown, Heaven is still open for business.

When systems fail and leaders blame one another, God’s Kingdom remains stable, sovereign, and sure.

The world might stop sending checks, but God never stops making deposits of grace, peace, and provision into the lives of His people.

Right now, many are anxious — SNAP benefits ending, healthcare uncertain, jobs on pause — but this is when faith becomes more than a Sunday word. This is where we prove who our true Source is.

The psalmist didn’t say Wall Street is our refuge, or the White House is our strength. He said God is.

When everything around you feels shut down, open up your worship. When the world delays, declare your dependence on the One who never defaults.

Even in famine, He can feed you. Even in chaos, He can calm you. Even in shutdown, He can show up.

So don’t panic — pray. Don’t retreat — rejoice.

Because Heaven’s economy never crashes, and your Father’s love never furloughs.

Heavenly Father,

We come before You today in faith and humility, trusting that even in times of shutdown, You are still moving, still providing, and still reigning.

Lord, comfort those across our nation who are facing uncertainty — families worried about food, healthcare, and housing. Let Your peace fill their homes and Your provision overflow their tables.

We also lift up our brothers and sisters in Jamaica as they endure the winds and rains of Hurricane Melissa. Be their shelter in the storm, their anchor in the waves, and their strength in the rebuilding to come.

We speak protection over every family, every child, every home, and every coastline. Let angels encamp around them, and let Your mercy cover the island like a shield.

Father, teach us to stand still and see Your salvation — to trust You when the systems fail, to praise You when the power’s out, and to remember that You never leave nor forsake us.

We declare: Heaven is open, hope is alive, and help is already on the way.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ,

Amen.

Declaration:

“I may be living through a shutdown, but I’m standing on a setup. My God still reigns, my needs are still met, and my hope is still alive!”
