“Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.”
— Psalm 27:10 (NLT)
“The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength.”
— Isaiah 58:11 (NLT)
There are moments when you expect certain people to be there — family, friends, even those you’ve poured into — and instead of standing with you, they ridicule, neglect, patronize, or scorn you.
It hurts. But that’s where the love of God steps in.
In the dream I had, I heard, “The heart of God loves you so much He helps you accomplish everything you start.”
And now I understand — that same love also protects and guides you when others reject you.
David wrote Psalm 27 from a place of betrayal and loneliness, yet he discovered that the love of God is not just emotional — it’s directional.
“Though my father and mother forsake me…” — represents the deepest kind of rejection possible.
“…the Lord will receive me.” — reveals divine adoption. When others push you away, God pulls you closer.
Isaiah 58:11 reminds us that God’s love doesn’t just shelter — it guides. Even in dry seasons, His Spirit becomes the compass that restores your strength and peace.
1. Don’t confuse rejection with redirection.
Some people walk away because God needs your focus to shift from depending on people to depending on Him.
2. Let divine love redefine your worth.
You are not who they said you were — you are who God says you are: chosen, called, and covered.
3. Let God’s guidance heal your heart.
When you don’t know which way to turn, His Word lights your path (Psalm 119:105).
The love of God surrounds me like a shield.
I am protected, even when rejected.
I am guided, even when misunderstood.
The same God who started this work in me will finish it — in strength, in peace, and in love.
Father, thank You for loving me beyond the limits of human loyalty.
When others walk away, You stay.
When others wound me, You heal me.
Guide me through the seasons of misunderstanding and rejection.
Protect my heart from bitterness, and keep me grounded in Your peace.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
If you’ve been walking through a season of rejection, God’s love is waiting to restore your confidence.
Come back to the One who will never neglect, ridicule, or scorn you — Jesus Christ.
