Listen, Learn, and Live Wisely

Hello Ekklesia Listen, Learn, and Live Wisely

Proverbs 19:20 (NLT) — “Get all the advice and instruction you can, so you will be wise the rest of your life.”

This verse from Proverbs speaks directly to the teachable heart. Solomon, the wisest man to ever live, reminds us that wisdom doesn’t come from knowing everything — it comes from being willing to learn from anything. The word “get” in Hebrew implies active pursuit — go after wisdom, chase understanding, and value correction. To get advice and instruction means you’re humble enough to admit you don’t have all the answers, but you know Who does.

God often hides wisdom in conversation, counsel, and correction. A teachable spirit is not a sign of weakness; it’s evidence of maturity. The proud resist instruction, but the wise receive it — even when it’s uncomfortable.

When you seek advice from godly people, study the Word, and remain open to the Holy Spirit’s correction, you position yourself for longevity in wisdom. The verse says, “so you will be wise the rest of your life.” That means today’s humility produces tomorrow’s stability.

Think about it — every time you listen before reacting, pray before deciding, and submit before assuming, God adds layers of wisdom to your spirit. Apostolic maturity, Baptist faithfulness, Charismatic fire, Pentecostal discernment, and Prophetic accuracy all grow from a foundation of listening and learning.

Heavenly Father, teach me to be teachable. Break every prideful thought that keeps me from hearing Your voice through others. Fill me with the Holy Ghost’s guidance, that I may discern truth and walk wisely. Help me to listen more than I speak, learn before I leap, and live with wisdom that honors You all the days of my life.

If you’ve been living by your own understanding, today is your day to surrender to the wisdom of God through Jesus Christ. Come to Him — the Living Word — and let the Holy Spirit teach you how to walk in truth, power, and peace.
