What Does the Ekklesia Do When the Government Does Not Part 2

Part 2: Encouragement in the Shutdown

Beloved, the government may be shut down, but Heaven is still open for business. Philippians 4:19 (NLT) reminds us: “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.”

Shutdowns expose how fragile human systems are. But the Kingdom reminds us of who God is — the Great Provider. Joseph thrived during famine because God gave him wisdom and favor. The early church in Acts 2 cared for one another so that “there were no needy people among them.” When governments stall, the Ekklesia must rise.

This is our moment to:

Live generously, not fearfully.

Trust God’s economy, not man’s.

Remain steady when others panic.

Because faith in Christ produces fruit even in famine.

Father, we surrender our anxiety about bills, jobs, and uncertainty. You have never failed us, and You never will. Encourage our hearts. Strengthen our hands. Let us be a light when others are shaken.

Lord, we again lift up those in authority. Give them clarity and compassion. Turn their hearts toward justice and peace. Remind them they serve under Your ultimate rule.

If you’re listening and don’t know this Jesus — the King who reigns when all else falls apart — He’s waiting with open arms. Say yes to Him today. Step into the family of faith, the Ekklesia, where hope is alive and the Gospel is told and never sold.

Peace and Blessings,

Pastor Stephän Kirby
