PASSION WEEK — SATURDAY Working in the Silence

Day 6 of Ekklesia's Passion Week Devotionals
Just because God is silent doesn’t mean He is absent.
“God is quiet… but He’s not absent.”
Saturday was silent.
No miracles. No messages. No movement.
Just a tomb…and unanswered questions.
And that’s where many of us are.
Waiting. Wondering. Trying to hold on.
But hear this:
Just because you don’t see it…doesn’t mean God isn’t doing it.
Silence is not absence. It’s preparation.
So here’s the question:
Can you trust God…in the silence?
Just because God is silent doesn’t mean He is absent.
Matthew 27:59–60 (NLT)“Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a long sheet of clean linen cloth. He placed it in his own new tomb…”
After the crucifixion, Jesus’ body is taken down from the cross and placed in a borrowed tomb. For the disciples, this moment feels final. The One they followed, believed in, and hoped in now lies lifeless behind a sealed stone.
From their perspective:
The miracles have stopped
The voice of Jesus is silent
The mission appears over
Heaven is quiet.
But what they cannot see is that God is still moving. Even in the silence, prophecy is unfolding. Even in the stillness, resurrection is being prepared.
This is where many of us live.
Not in Friday’s pain…and not yet in Sunday’s victory…
…but in Saturday’s silence.
No answers. No signs. No visible progress.
And we begin to question:
“God, where are You?” “Did I miss You?” “Is this over?”
But silence is not inactivity—it is preparation.
God often does His deepest work in the places where we see nothing.
Because faith is not built in noise—it is built in trust.
Saturday faith is different.
It’s not shouting—it’s trusting. It’s not seeing—it’s believing. It’s not movement—it’s endurance.
If God hasn’t responded yet…He’s still working.
If the door hasn’t opened yet…He’s still working.
If the situation hasn’t changed yet…He’s still working.
So don’t quit in the silence.Don’t walk away in the waiting.Don’t give up before the resurrection.
Because what feels like the end…is often where God is preparing the beginning.
Father, help me trust You in the quiet. When I don’t see results, remind me that You are still moving. Strengthen my faith when I feel uncertain. Give me patience in the waiting and confidence in Your plan. Prepare my heart for what’s coming next. I will trust You—even in the silence. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Stay with Jesus—even in silence. Don’t just follow Him in visible moments—follow Him in quiet ones. Grow deeper in faith, trust, and endurance with Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries.
