One God, Many Voices — But Only One Way

Grace and Peace
"Jesus told him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.'"
— John 14:6 (NLT)
Walk into different churches and you’ll see different expressions—hands raised, hands folded, hymns in one place, drums in another. And if we’re honest, we’ve all wondered: If there’s one God, why so many ways of worshiping Him?
That’s the same question the Samaritan woman asked Jesus. She wanted to know which location, which method, which tradition was right. Jesus didn’t argue styles. He revealed truth.
He said the time had come when true worshipers would worship the Father in spirit and in truth (John 4:23).
Spirit means worship that is real, alive, and Spirit-led. Truth means worship anchored in who God actually is, revealed in Scripture, and fulfilled in Christ.

Spirit without truth becomes emotionalism. Truth without spirit becomes dead religion. God requires both.
Scripture is clear: There is one God (Deuteronomy 6:4), and there is only one way to Him—Jesus (Acts 4:12). Not sincerity. Not tradition. Not preference. Jesus.
But while there is one way, there are many expressions.
God never asked us to worship alike. He asked us to worship together.
Our culture, background, and personality shape how we worship—but not Who we worship.
Here’s the challenge: Stop defending your expression and start declaring your Savior.
Unity is not uniformity. Unity is Jesus at the center and love as the evidence.
The world isn’t watching our style. They’re watching our fruit.
So today, return to what matters most. Worship in spirit. Walk in truth. Stand on Jesus.
One God. Many voices. Only one way.
Father,
Forgive us for making worship about us instead of You. Forgive us for dividing over style when You called us to unity in Spirit. Teach us to worship in truth—anchored in Scripture, centered on Christ. Teach us to worship in Spirit—alive, authentic, led by You.
Let our differences decorate Your Kingdom, not divide it. Let our love for one another be the loudest sermon we preach.
We surrender our preferences. We lift up Your name. Jesus, You are the way, the truth, and the life.
In Your name, Amen.
