Good Morning My Ekklesia Family
John 17:20–24 (NLT)
20 “I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. 21 I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.
22 “I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. 23 I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me. 24 Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am. Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began!
Imagine a choir singing the same song, but each singer is doing their own thing—different keys, tempos, and lyrics. Chaos, not harmony. But when everyone aligns under one conductor, a beautiful sound rises, greater than the sum of its parts.
That’s how the church should be—not a noise of division, but a symphony of unity conducted by Christ Himself.
Jesus, just hours before His arrest, lifts His eyes and prays—not for power or protection—but for unity.
v.20 – He includes “all who will ever believe”—that’s us.
v.21 – He desires oneness: “Just as You are in Me, and I am in You.” Divine unity—intimate, indivisible.
v.22 – He gives us His glory—not for our ego, but to reflect heaven’s unity.
v.23 – Our unity is evangelism—“that the world will know You sent Me.”
v.24 – He longs for us to be with Him, to see His glory, to experience eternal intimacy born out of eternal love.
Jesus’ prayer is not merely for uniformity but for perfect unity—rooted in love, lived in purpose, and revealed in fellowship.
Unity is our witness. When we divide, we dim the light of Christ.
Glory is our bond. We’re not united by denomination, tradition, or culture—but by the glory Jesus shared with us.
Love is our language. We can’t claim to be in Christ and walk in hate or indifference toward one another.
Heaven is our aim. Unity now prepares us for eternity with Him later. If we can’t love each other now, how can we live with each other then?
Abba Father,Break down every wall of division in our hearts, homes, and churches. Let the glory Jesus gave be revealed in us through unity, humility, and love. Let our unity preach louder than any sermon. Heal every wound, every offense, every prideful spirit. Help us be one, as You are One. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Have you been divided from the body or disconnected from the presence of God? This is your call to come home. Jesus already prayed for you. He wants you with Him. He wants you one with His people.Come to the One who still prays for you. Say yes to Jesus. Say yes to unity.
