Exodus 32:31–32 NLT

“So Moses returned to the LORD and said, ‘Oh, what a terrible sin these people have committed. They have made gods of gold for themselves. But now, if you will only forgive their sin—but if not, erase my name from the record you have written!’”

Israel had sinned seriously by worshiping the golden calf. Moses didn't excuse their behavior—he called their sin what it was.

But after confronting the people, Moses went before God and interceded for them.

Moses couldn't become their Savior or pay for their sin. That ultimately points us toward Jesus, our true Mediator, who lives to intercede for us.

Leadership isn't merely standing over people. Sometimes leadership means carrying people before God.

That's different from enabling them.

You can confront what's wrong and still pray for the person who did it.

You can establish a boundary and still love.

You can disagree and still intercede.

Mature leaders don't just talk about people. They pray for people.

Who has God entrusted to your influence?

Your children? Employees? Church family? Friends? Coworkers? Someone you're mentoring?

Before criticizing them today, pray for them.

Before giving up on them, pray for them.

You aren't their Savior—Jesus is.

But you can carry their name before Him.

Don't just carry the position. Carry the people.

Wednesday's Question:Who am I responsible to carry before God in prayer?

If God gives you influence with people, He may also be giving you responsibility to pray for them.

Let's Pray...

Father, thank You for the people You have entrusted to my influence. Forgive me when I've been quicker to criticize than to pray. Give me courage to confront what is wrong without losing compassion for people. Remind me that I am not their Savior—Jesus is. Teach me to carry people faithfully before You and use my influence to lead them closer to Christ. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Jesus doesn't call us merely to discuss people. He teaches us to love, serve, restore, encourage, and pray.

Ask Him today:

“Jesus, whose name do You want me to carry before You?”

Then pray.

That's discipleship.That's leadership.That's Everyday Ekklesia.
