What Now?

Good morning Ekklesia

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” - Isaiah 55:8-9 (NIV)

Sometimes life throws us into unexpected places. We plan, we prepare, we pray, and yet circumstances unfold in ways we never anticipated. Relationships may falter, careers may stall, and hopes may feel as if they’re fading. In these moments, it’s easy to feel lost, to question, "What now?" But even in our uncertainty, God is still in control. His ways are higher, His understanding deeper, and His vision more far-reaching than ours.

The prophet Isaiah reminds us that God’s ways transcend human understanding. We may not see the full picture, but He does. When we release our plans into God’s hands, we acknowledge that He alone holds the wisdom to guide us. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” As disciples of Christ, we are called not to understand everything, but to trust that God’s plans for us are good and that His timing is perfect.

When things don’t go as planned, pause and seek God rather than relying on your own limited understanding. It’s natural to want control, but peace comes from surrendering to His will. Spend time in prayer, asking God to reveal Himself and His plans for you. Journaling, praying through Scripture, and sharing with trusted believers can help you stay focused on God’s presence rather than your circumstances. Let each challenge remind you that God is preparing something greater than what you could have imagined.

Heavenly Father, I come before You, surrendering my plans, my desires, and my understanding. In this season of “What Now?” I choose to trust You, even when I don’t see the way forward. Lord, reveal Yourself to me in ways I haven’t seen before. Help me to rest in the assurance that You are guiding my steps, even when I feel lost. Strengthen my faith to rely on You fully, knowing that Your plans are higher and better than anything I could design. I surrender my future into Your hands. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If you’re feeling lost or uncertain today, I invite you to place your faith in Jesus. As a community of believers at Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries, we are here to walk with you, pray with you, and support you. Reach out to us and join us in learning to trust and follow Christ, who has good plans for you. Jesus says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Come as you are, and let’s follow Him together, even through the unknown.
