Seeing Beyond Today

Good morning Ekklesia

“Seeing Beyond Today: An Eternal Perspective”

“Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand.” — Colossians 3:1, NLT

Beloved, we often seek God’s blessings in the here and now, expecting His promises to unfold in our lifetime. But remember Abraham. God showed him stars in the sky and sand on the shore, a vision of countless descendants. Yet, Abraham did not see this promise fulfilled in his lifetime. Instead, his faith planted seeds that sprouted through generations, a blessing that would ripple across time, even to us.

We are standing here today because of the faith and prayers of those who came before us. This is a reminder that our journey is not just about us—it’s about those who will follow. Set your mind on things eternal, for God’s work through you may bless generations yet unborn. Instead of expecting every answer now, let’s trust in God’s grand design, even when we can’t see the end.

Think of planting seeds in the fall. When a farmer plants, he doesn’t see immediate growth; in fact, the cold of winter soon arrives, and the seeds appear to lie dormant under the surface. But beneath the soil, unseen by human eyes, those seeds are preparing to grow and bear fruit when the time is right. Just as the farmer trusts the process and the coming season, we must trust that the seeds of faith, love, and prayer we plant today will bear fruit in God’s perfect timing, perhaps even for future generations.

Colossians 3:1 calls us to focus on the “realities of heaven,” a command to view life from a divine perspective rather than being anchored to earthly desires. By setting our sights on heaven, we align ourselves with God’s eternal purpose, embracing a vision far greater than temporary gains.

Consider your choices, words, and prayers today as seeds for the future. When you serve, love, and sacrifice, you are building a legacy for those who will come after you. Leave a legacy of faith for your family, your community, and those who will stand on the foundation you help lay.

Lord Jesus, we surrender to Your eternal purpose, choosing not to limit Your plans to what we can see today. Teach us to trust in the future You are shaping through us. Help us to lift our eyes to heavenly things and inspire us to be a blessing for future generations. We are Yours, Lord. Guide us in faith. Amen.

If you are ready to live with an eternal perspective, we invite you to join us at Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries. Together, let us lift up Christ and plant seeds for the future. Visit us at EkklesiaChristianLife.org and step into a journey that blesses today and generations to come.
