FREEDOM DELAYED IS NOT FREEDOM DENIED

Juneteenth 2026
Many people remain imprisoned by fear, shame, guilt, bitterness, religion, addiction, regret, or unforgiveness long after Christ has declared them free.
Leviticus 25:10 (NLT)
"Set this year apart as holy, a time to proclaim freedom throughout the land for all who live there. It will be a jubilee year for you."
Additional Scriptures:
John 8:36"So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free."
Galatians 5:1"So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free."
Luke 4:18"He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released..."
Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when enslaved African Americans in Texas finally received word that they had been legally freed. Their freedom had already been declared, yet many continued living under bondage because the message had not yet reached them.
The biblical concept of Jubilee found in Leviticus 25 carried a similar message. Debts were canceled. Captives were released. Families were restored. God established Jubilee as a reminder that His people were never created to remain in perpetual bondage.
Both Jubilee and Juneteenth remind us of a powerful truth:
Freedom can be declared before it is fully experienced.

This is where many believers live today.
Christ has forgiven them, but they still carry shame.
Christ has redeemed them, but they still identify with their failures.
Christ has broken the chains, but they continue dragging them behind.
Some remain imprisoned by fear.
Others by guilt.
Others by bitterness.
Others by addiction.
Others by religion that teaches performance instead of relationship.
Others by regret over decisions they cannot undo.
The enemy does not always need chains to keep people bound.
Sometimes he only needs them to believe they are still prisoners.
The cross was God's declaration of freedom.
The resurrection was Heaven's confirmation.
The Holy Spirit is the daily reminder that the prison door is already open.
The Shift is not merely moving into a new season.
The Shift is learning to live in what Christ has already provided.
Stop asking permission to be free.
Jesus already paid for it.
Stop rehearsing failures God has already forgiven.
Stop carrying chains Christ has already broken.
Stop living beneath a declaration Heaven has already spoken.
You are not what happened to you.
You are not your addiction.
You are not your worst mistake.
You are not your divorce.
You are not your past.
You are not your regret.
You are who God says you are through Jesus Christ.
Freedom delayed is not freedom denied.
Walk in the liberty Christ has already declared.
Father, thank You for being the God of deliverance, restoration, and freedom. Thank You that through Jesus Christ every chain has been broken and every debt has been paid. Forgive us for carrying burdens You never intended us to carry. Heal every wound caused by fear, shame, guilt, bitterness, regret, religion, addiction, and unforgiveness. Teach us to walk boldly in the freedom purchased through the blood of Jesus. Let our lives become testimonies of Your grace, mercy, and transforming power. Fill us with courage, hope, purpose, and faith. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Jesus did not come merely to make bad people better.
He came to make dead people alive.
He came to set captives free.
If you have never surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, today is your opportunity.
If you know Him but have been living beneath guilt, fear, shame, or regret, today is your opportunity to walk in freedom again.
Choose relationship over religion.
Choose obedience over excuses.
Choose Christ over captivity.
Join us at Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries as we grow together as a called-out family of believers reflecting the image of Christ Jesus.
