Pain Produces Vision

Grace and Peace Beloved Ekklesia

Every tear has a testimony, and every trial has a teacher. What looks like pain today may be the lens God uses to sharpen your vision for tomorrow.

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.” – Romans 5:3–4 NLT

When an eagle teaches its young to fly, it stirs the nest and pushes the eaglet out. What feels like cruelty is actually preparation. The pain of falling forces the eaglet to spread its wings and discover it was created for the sky. In the same way, God allows seasons that feel like falling — not to destroy us, but to reveal that He has given us wings of faith.

Paul reminds us that problems and trials are not without purpose. The word endurance in Greek means steadfastness under pressure — like the eaglet developing wing strength in the fall. That endurance gives birth to character, a proven faith that has been tested in the wind. And character matures into hope — the confident expectation that God’s plan will prevail.

Pain is the push that makes vision possible. Without the push, the eaglet would never soar. Without the trial, you may never discover what God has placed in you. Your pain is not punishment; it is preparation for flight.

  • When trials come, stop asking, “Why is this happening?” and start asking, “What wings is God strengthening in me?”

  • Write down one lesson your current struggle is teaching you and declare it as part of your God-given vision.

  • Trust that pain is not the end — it’s the push.

“Father, don’t let my pain be wasted. Let it sharpen my vision and strengthen my wings of faith. Teach me to see trials as preparation for the flight You’ve designed me to take. Amen.”

If you feel like you’re falling, know this — God designed you to soar. Through Jesus Christ, pain becomes purpose, and falling becomes flying.
