“You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.” – Genesis 50:20 (NLT)
Joseph’s brothers schemed against him out of jealousy. Their betrayal—throwing him into a pit, selling him into slavery, and lying to their father—looked like destruction. But what they meant for evil, God repurposed for His plan. In Hebrew, the phrase “God intended it” carries the idea of divine weaving—as if God Himself took the loose, broken threads of Joseph’s life and rewove them into a garment of destiny.
Enemies thought they were burying Joseph, but in truth, they were planting him. Each act of betrayal positioned him closer to Pharaoh’s palace. The very hands raised against him became the lift that carried him into his calling.
Child of God, don’t panic when enemies rise. Don’t curse the pit, the false accusation, or the prison season. Your enemies are not your finish line—they are your elevators. Their schemes may feel like setbacks, but God flips them into setups.
That betrayal? God can turn it into breakthrough.
That rejection? God can make it redirection.
That closed door? It may be God’s push toward the palace He prepared for you.
Trust the God who knows how to weave evil into good. The same God who raised Joseph is the same God working in your life right now.
“Lord, help me trust You when enemies rise against me. Turn what they meant for evil into good. Use every pit, every betrayal, every setback as an elevator to lift me higher in You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
If you’re tired of being crushed by life’s betrayals, come to the One who turns pits into palaces. Jesus Christ is not just a Savior—He is the lifter of your head. At Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries, we believe that in Him, every enemy becomes an elevator. Visit us at ekklesiachristianlife.org. We’d love to walk with you as family in Christ.
