WHEN JESUS IS GREATER THAN THE LABEL

The Church was never meant to be divided by labels but united by Christ.

Matthew 22:31-32 (NLT)

"But now, as to whether there will be a resurrection of the dead—haven't you ever read about this in the Scriptures?... He is the God of the living, not the dead."

When Jesus spoke these words, He was addressing the Sadducees, a religious group that denied the resurrection, angels, and spirits. The Pharisees disagreed with the Sadducees on many doctrines and traditions. These two groups spent much of their time debating one another and defending their own interpretations of Scripture.

Yet despite their differences, many among both groups failed to recognize Jesus standing before them.

The Pharisees focused heavily on tradition.

The Sadducees focused heavily on power and control.

Jesus focused on revealing the Father.

Their greatest mistake was not doctrinal disagreement.

Their greatest mistake was allowing their systems to become greater than their relationship with God.

The modern Church often faces a similar challenge.

Today we have denominations, fellowships, networks, movements, traditions, and countless ways of worshipping God.

Some emphasize liturgy.

Some emphasize doctrine.

Some emphasize spiritual gifts.

Some emphasize evangelism.

Some emphasize tradition.

None of these things are necessarily wrong.

The question remains:

Do they point us to Jesus?

At Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries, we are not trying to build another denomination.

We are striving to become a called-out family of believers reflecting the image of Christ Jesus.

We believe Jesus is greater than our labels.

His presence is greater than our traditions.

His Spirit is greater than our preferences.

His Kingdom is greater than our camps.

We seek to worship God in Spirit and in Truth.

Not merely in tradition.

Not merely in emotion.

Not merely in doctrine.

But in relationship with the Father through Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Every believer should ask:

Have I become more committed to a religious system than to Christ?

Would I recognize Jesus if He challenged my traditions?

Am I defending my position, or am I pursuing His presence?

The goal is not to become less biblical.

The goal is to become more Christlike.

The goal is not to abandon truth.

The goal is to walk in truth while remaining led by the Spirit.

At Ekklesia, our desire is simple:

Follow Jesus.

Love people.

Teach Scripture.

Make disciples.

Reflect Christ.

Everything else is secondary.

PRAYER

Father, thank You for sending Jesus Christ to reveal Your heart to humanity. Forgive us for the times we have elevated traditions above relationship, opinions above obedience, and systems above Your presence. Teach us to worship You in Spirit and in Truth. Help us to see Jesus clearly, follow Him faithfully, and love others genuinely. May our lives reflect Christ more than any label we carry. Strengthen us to be disciples who pursue Your Kingdom above our preferences. In Jesus' name, Amen.

DISCIPLESHIP INVITATION

Jesus did not come to start a denomination.

He came to reconcile humanity to the Father.

If you desire to grow in Christ, learn His Word, and become part of a family of believers committed to spiritual growth and authentic discipleship, we invite you to journey with us at Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries.

Relationship over religion.

Discipleship over spectatorship.

Christ above everything.
