When Jesus gave this “new commandment,” He wasn’t suggesting something optional — He was laying the foundation for how His followers would be known. Love isn’t just a feeling; it’s a way of living. The world is filled with opinions, arguments, and division, but the only way — the right way — is Jesus’s way. And His way is love.

Love is sacrificial, patient, forgiving, and unconditional. To love like Jesus means to shift from reacting in our flesh to responding in His Spirit. It means letting His example guide us when our own strength fails.

1. Choose to Love Beyond Hurt

When others mistreat you, remember Jesus loved even those who nailed Him to the cross. Shift from bitterness to forgiveness.

2. Love Through Service

Jesus washed His disciples’ feet. Find ways to serve your family, friends, and even strangers — love in action speaks louder than words.

3. Live Love Daily

Make love the measure of every decision. Before speaking or acting, ask: “Does this reflect the love of Jesus?”

Heavenly Father, we surrender our hearts to Your way — the way of love. Teach us to love like Jesus: forgiving when wronged, serving when tired, and shining light when darkness surrounds us. Encourage us when it feels hard, and strengthen us when our flesh wants to give up. May our lives reflect Your love in every word and deed. In Jesus name amen
