DAY 4 - The Creative Power of Your Words: Speaking Life into the Unseen

Grace and Peace My Ekklesia Family
God calls us to speak by faith, declaring His promises over our lives as if they are already done—because our words have the power to call forth what does not yet exist.
Primary Scripture (NLT): "And Abraham's faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as dead—and so was Sarah's womb. Abraham never wavered in believing God's promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises." — Romans 4:19-21
"By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God's command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen." — Hebrews 11:3
Supporting Scriptures:
Romans 4:17 (NLT) — "That is what the Scriptures mean when God told him, 'I have made you the father of many nations.' This happened because Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothing."
Mark 11:23-24 (NLT) — "I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, 'May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,' and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you've received it, it will be yours."
Proverbs 18:21 (NLT) — "The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences."
2 Corinthians 4:13 (NLT) — "But we continue to preach because we have the same kind of faith the psalmist had when he said, 'I believed in God, so I spoke.'"
Hebrews 11:1 (NLT) — "Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see."
Romans 4:17 introduces us to one of the most radical faith principles in all of Scripture: God "calls those things which do not exist as though they did" (NKJV). The Greek word used here is kaleō (καλέω), which means "to call forth," "to summon," or "to name." It's the same word used when God called light into existence in Genesis 1:3—"Let there be light."
God didn't look at darkness and describe what He saw. He spoke what He wanted to see. He called forth light from nothing. He summoned reality by His word.
And here's what's staggering: Paul says this creative, faith-filled way of speaking is the model for our faith as children of God.
Abraham is the example. God promised him he would be the father of many nations when he was childless, old, and physically incapable of having children. But Abraham didn't just hope for the promise—he spoke it. He began introducing himself as "Abraham," which means "father of many," before Isaac was ever conceived. Imagine the awkwardness. Imagine the doubt. But Abraham called what was not as though it was, because God had already spoken it.
This wasn't positive thinking. This was prophetic alignment. Abraham's words lined up with God's Word, and the power of agreement released the creative authority of heaven.
The Hebrew mindset understood something we've largely lost in Western Christianity: words create worlds. The Hebrew word dabar (דָּבָר) means both "word" and "thing." In other words, what you speak becomes something. Your words are not passive observations—they are active agents of creation or destruction.
Let me ask you something: What are you speaking over your life right now?
Are you declaring what God said, or are you repeating what the enemy whispered?
Because here's the truth most Christians won't tell you: Your mouth is either building your future or destroying it.
Proverbs 18:21 says, "The tongue can bring death or life." Not "might bring." Not "could bring." Brings. Your words are that powerful.
And yet, we live in a generation of believers who know how to quote Scripture but don't know how to decree it. We know how to talk about God's promises, but we don't know how to talk to our situations with the authority of those promises.
Listen: Faith doesn't just believe—it speaks.
Jesus didn't just think about the fig tree withering. He spoke to it (Mark 11:14).Jesus didn't just hope Lazarus would rise. He commanded, "Lazarus, come out!" (John 11:43).Jesus didn't just pray about the storm. He said, "Peace, be still!" (Mark 4:39).
And He told His disciples—He told you—that you have that same authority.
But somewhere along the way, we started thinking that speaking by faith was arrogant, presumptuous, or "name it and claim it" nonsense. So we stopped speaking. We started complaining instead. We started rehearsing our problems instead of declaring God's promises.
We say things like:
"I'll never get out of this."
"This is just how my family is."
"I'm always going to struggle with this."
"Nothing ever works out for me."
And then we wonder why our lives look exactly like what we've been confessing.
Here's the prophetic confrontation for Day 4 of this fast: You cannot live in victory while speaking defeat.
God is calling you to a higher level of faith—the kind of faith that doesn't just see the problem, but speaks to it. The kind of faith that doesn't just accept the current reality, but calls forth the Kingdom reality.
This is not about manipulation. This is not about trying to control God. This is about coming into agreement with what God has already said and releasing it over your life with your mouth.
Because if God said it, it's already done in the Spirit. Your job is to call it from the unseen into the seen.
Day 4 is where your words get put on trial.
Fasting exposes what's really in your heart—and it comes out of your mouth. When you're hungry, tired, and uncomfortable, what do you say? Do you complain, or do you declare? Do you rehearse the struggle, or do you speak life?
Here's the shift God is asking you to make today:
1. Stop describing your reality—start decreeing your destiny.
If God said you're healed, stop saying "I'm sick." Say, "By His stripes, I am healed."If God said He'll provide, stop saying "I'm broke." Say, "My God supplies all my needs."If God said He's working it together for good, stop saying "This is a disaster." Say, "God is turning this around for my good and His glory."
2. Speak to your situation, not just about it.
Don't just pray about your mountain—speak to it. Command it to move in Jesus' name. Declare breakthrough. Prophesy restoration. Call forth the promise.
3. Guard your mouth like your life depends on it—because it does.
James 3:5-6 says your tongue is like a small rudder that steers a massive ship. Where your words go, your life follows. If you want a different destination, change your confession.
4. Let God's Word be the script for your mouth.
You're not making things up. You're not speaking fantasies. You're speaking what God already said. Find the promises in Scripture that apply to your situation, and begin to declare them daily.
This is what it means to live by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). Faith doesn't wait to see it before it speaks it. Faith calls those things that are not as though they were—because God already called them into being.
Father God,
Forgive me for the times I've used my words to tear down instead of build up. Forgive me for speaking defeat, doubt, and despair over my life when You've already spoken victory, hope, and destiny. I repent of agreeing with the enemy's lies instead of aligning with Your truth.
Today, I surrender my mouth to You. I ask You to set a guard over my lips and help me speak only what brings life. Holy Spirit, teach me how to decree Your Word with authority and boldness. Teach me how to call forth the unseen promises You've already released over me.
I declare today that my words will no longer curse my future—they will create it. I will speak healing, provision, breakthrough, restoration, and transformation. I will not be moved by what I see; I will be anchored in what You've said.
Thank You that You are the God who calls things that are not as though they were. Thank You that You've given me that same creative power through faith. I believe it. I receive it. And now, I will speak it.
In the mighty name of Jesus—Amen.
If you've been trapped in a cycle of negative confession, today is your breakthrough moment.
The words you've been speaking have been shaping your reality—but it's not too late to change the script. God is inviting you into a life of faith-filled declaration, where you align your mouth with His promises and watch Heaven move.
This isn't about pretending everything is perfect. It's about choosing to speak what God says, even when your circumstances scream something different.
At Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries, we're building a community of believers who don't just survive—we speak life, we decree destiny, and we watch God move mountains.
If you're tired of living beneath your calling, if you're ready to stop repeating the same defeated cycles, and if you want to learn how to walk in the authority Jesus gave you—come grow with us.
Join a small group. Get connected. Let's lock arms and call forth the promises of God together.
Because when believers start speaking by faith, the atmosphere shifts. The enemy trembles. And the Kingdom advances.
Speak it. Believe it. Watch God do it.
