Shhh, Did You Hear That?
Good morning My Ekklesia Family
Shhh, Did you hear that? It's the Voice of God. Some people do not hear it because of the noise that is around them. Sometimes we are in noise too long that we don't recognize the Voice of God. Noise can be confusing, distracting, irritating, and provoking.
When the people of God are listening to the noise exclusively for an extended period of time instead of the Voice of God they become irritable, confused, distracted and they're easily provoked.
Government shutdowns can be confusing. Jealousy and envy can be distracting. Baby mama/Baby daddy drama can be irritating. Rumors at work can be provoking. All of these are just noise. We must learn how to listen to the voice of God in the midst of the noise. He is speaking as a whisper.
When someone speaks in a whisper, you have to get very close to hear. In fact, you have to put your ear near the person’s mouth. We lean toward a whisper, and that’s what God wants. The goal of hearing the heavenly Father’s voice isn’t just hearing His voice; it’s intimacy with Him. That’s why He speaks in a whisper. He wants to be as close to us as is divinely possible! He loves us, likes us, that much. So let's get closer to Him and ignore the noise.
“Go out and stand before me on the mountain,” the Lord told him. And as Elijah stood there, the Lord passed by, and a mighty windstorm hit the mountain. It was such a terrible blast that the rocks were torn loose, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. And after the earthquake there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire there was the sound of a gentle whisper. 1 Kings 19:11-12 NLT
