DON'T FORGET THE ONE NOBODY SEES

Scripture

Luke 14:23

"Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come."

 

BIG IDEA

Jesus cares about the people everyone else ignores.

 

OPENING QUESTION

Have you ever felt left out?

Ignored?

Overlooked?

Invisible?

Most people have.

The amazing thing about Jesus is that He notices people others miss.

 

TEACHING

When Jesus told this story, He described people living behind hedges and along the roads.

These were not the popular people.

These were not the powerful people.

These were the people most others walked past.

But God didn't walk past them.

God sent someone to invite them.

That means nobody is invisible to God.

Not the lonely student.

Not the bullied student.

Not the student sitting by themselves at lunch.

Not the person struggling at home.

Not the person questioning their worth.

God sees them.

 

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU?

Following Jesus is not just about attending church.

It is about noticing people.

Being kind.

Being welcoming.

Being courageous enough to start a conversation.

You may be the person God uses to help someone know they matter.

 

REAL-LIFE CHALLENGE

This week:

Sit with someone different.

Start one conversation.

Invite one friend.

Pray for one person.

Show kindness without expecting anything back.

1. Who do people often ignore at school?

2. Why do you think Jesus paid attention to outsiders?

3. How can you show God's love this week?

4. Who can you invite to church or youth group?

 

PRAYER

Jesus,

Thank You for seeing me when I feel overlooked.

Help me notice people who need encouragement.

Give me courage to be kind.

Use me to help others know they are loved by You.

Amen.
