The Fear of the Lord: Key to Wisdom

Good morning Ekklesia, today let's jump into Proverbs 9:10, which says, "Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment" (NLT). In these few words, we find a profound truth that can transform our lives.

Understanding the Fear of the Lord

The fear of the Lord isn't about being scared of God; it's about reverencing Him, acknowledging His sovereignty, and recognizing His holiness. It's the awe and respect that come from knowing who God is. When we grasp the depth of His greatness and majesty, it changes our perspective on everything.

Foundation of Wisdom

Wisdom isn't just about being smart or knowing a lot of facts. True wisdom begins with a deep reverence for God. When we fear the Lord, it becomes the solid foundation upon which we build our lives. Every decision, every choice, every step we take is guided by this reverence for God, leading to wise living.

1. Seek God's Presence: Make it a priority to spend time in God's presence daily through prayer, worship, and reading His Word. The more we know Him, the more we will reverence Him.

2. Obey His Word: Let the fear of the Lord guide your actions. Choose to obey His commandments, even when it's difficult or unpopular. Trust that His ways are always best.

3. Grow in Discernment: As you deepen your relationship with God, you'll develop discernment and good judgment. Seek His guidance in every area of your life, and He will direct your paths.

As we embrace the fear of the Lord, we unlock the door to true wisdom and understanding. Let's commit to living in reverence for God, allowing His presence to guide us in every aspect of our lives. May we always remember that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
