"Running the Race with Christ"
Hebrews 12:1b-2 (NLT) - "And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith."
Discipline, consistency, and belief are the pillars of the Christian walk. Discipline reflects our commitment to follow Christ, even when we don’t feel like it. Jesus showed us the ultimate example of discipline when He chose the cross, despite the pain and suffering (Luke 22:42). Consistency reveals our understanding that our faith journey is a marathon, not a sprint. The Apostle Paul reminds us to "press on" toward the goal (Philippians 3:14). Belief is the foundation of our trust in God and in ourselves as His creation. We are reminded in Proverbs 3:5-6 to trust the Lord with all our hearts and not lean on our own understanding.
In life, storms will come, and at times, it will be hard to stay disciplined and consistent. But just as the photo emphasizes, even when we don’t feel like it, we must keep pressing forward. Trust that God is with you every step of the way. Like a marathon runner, pace yourself through life’s challenges. When storms arise—whether they are financial, relational, or spiritual—believe that Christ is your anchor. Stay disciplined in your prayer life, be consistent in seeking God’s Word, and believe that no storm is too great for Him to calm.
"Lord, I come before You today, acknowledging the storms that many of us face. Give us the discipline to trust You when we don’t feel like it. Help us stay consistent in our faith journey, knowing that You are with us every step of the way. Strengthen our belief in Your promises, and help us trust in Your ability to guide us through the storm. We declare that, even in our weakness, Your grace is sufficient. In Jesus' name, Amen."
If you are battling life’s storms and seeking a source of hope, I invite you to put your trust in Jesus Christ today. He is the One who will give you the strength to endure and the belief to overcome. Come to Him now, and allow Him to be your rock and refuge. Visit us at Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries, where you will find a family to support you on your journey of discipleship. Let’s walk together in this marathon of faith.
