Thank God for the Encouragers

God sends people into our lives to strengthen our faith, encourage our hearts, and help us stay focused on the Gospel instead of gossip.

Colossians 4:8 (NLT)

“I have sent him to you for this very purpose—to let you know how we are doing and to encourage you.”

Supporting Scriptures

- Hebrews 10:24–25

- Ephesians 4:29

- Proverbs 16:24

Paul wrote the letter to the Colossian church while facing difficult circumstances. Yet even in hardship, he intentionally sent Tychicus to encourage believers and strengthen the Body of Christ. The early church understood something many people forget today: encouragement is ministry.

The Greek idea behind encouragement means to comfort, strengthen, and call someone closer. This was not shallow positivity. This was spiritual reinforcement.

Paul did not send gossip.

He did not send confusion.

He did not send division.

He sent encouragement.

We live in a generation where bad news spreads faster than Good News. Gossip trends. Drama sells. Division gets attention. But God is still looking for people who know how to strengthen others instead of destroying them.

Some people only contact you to spread fear.

Some only call to repeat negativity.

Some only gather information to weaponize it later.

But thank God for the people who remind you:

“Keep praying.”

“Keep believing.”

“Jesus still loves you.”

“You are not alone.”

“Don’t give up.”

Those people are gifts from God.

The enemy wants isolation because isolated people become vulnerable people. But encouragement keeps faith alive. Encouragement reminds people they still matter to God.

Today, thank God for the “good” people in your life.

Not perfect people.

Not fake religious people.

But genuine people who point you toward Jesus.

Ask yourself:

Am I spreading the Gospel…

or spreading gossip?

Am I building people…

or breaking them?

You may never preach behind a pulpit, but every conversation is a sermon to somebody.

Be careful what comes out of your mouth.

Your words can either heal wounds or deepen them.

This is The Shift:

Moving from spectators to encouragers.

From critics to disciples.

From gossip to Gospel.

Father, thank You for every person You have placed in my life to encourage me, strengthen me, and remind me not to give up. Forgive me for the moments I have allowed negativity, criticism, or careless words to flow from my mouth.

Teach me to become an encourager. Let my words bring healing instead of division. Help me to speak life into my family, my church, my community, and my generation.

Holy Spirit, guard my mouth and purify my heart. Let me become someone who carries hope, truth, compassion, and conviction. Strengthen those who feel tired, forgotten, rejected, or overwhelmed today. Remind them they are loved, chosen, and seen by God.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

Jesus did not call us to perform religion.

He called us to follow Him.

If you are tired of gossip, confusion, division, fear, and spiritual emptiness, Jesus is still calling people into relationship, healing, transformation, and purpose.

You do not have to walk alone.

Grow with us at Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries as we pursue Christ together through truth, love, discipleship, and obedience.
